Job summary

St. Joseph's/Candler is seeking a GI Technician to provide non-licensed, technical bedside care under licensed staff in the GI Unit. Responsibilities include basic patient assistance, vitals, privacy, and comfort measures. BLS is required, and prior CNA experience with acute care exposure is preferred.

The role involves assisting with daily housekeeping and transport duties within the GI Unit while ensuring equipment readiness and patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1 year CNA experience preferred.
• Previous acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from reception area and assist with dressing and undressing.
• Complete set of vitals obtained and comfort and safety provided.
• Maintain patient privacy and provide warmth with blankets when needed.
• Demonstrates competence in anatomy and physiology relevant to gastrointestinal care.
• Ensure equipment and accessories are functioning prior to procedures and report malfunctions to Biomedical staff.
