Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a GI Technician to support endoscopy services across our Camden/Cape May Court House facilities. You will prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies; assist with endoscopic procedures; maintain equipment; and ensure clean, ready spaces for patients and staff.

The role requires GI tech and/or patient care experience, ability to learn IDX and EPIC systems, strong customer service, and flexibility for a minimum of 3 shifts every six weeks, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• GI tech experience and/or patient care experience (medical assistant, patient care technician, etc.)
• Must be able to learn IDX and EPIC applications
• Strong customer service skills preferred, some desk duties required

Responsibilities

• GI technicians prepare rooms and equipment before endoscopic procedures and clean up and sterilize after procedures
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies for endoscopic procedures
• Ensure equipment functions properly and keep waiting/recovery areas ready
• Maintain endoscopic equipment and calibrate instruments per manufacturer guidelines
• Assist with EPIC front desk registration and copay collection under supervision

Short Description

Some of the primary duties that GI technicians perform include:

• GI Technicians prepare rooms and equipment before endoscopic procedures and clean up and sterilize after procedures
• Maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies for endoscopic procedure
• Ensuring equipment functions properly
• Preparing waiting and recovery rooms or procedure suites
• Maintaining endoscopic equipment, including cleaning, disinfecting and calibrating instruments according to manufacturer guidelines
• Transporting patients according to medical personnel instructions- Helping physicians and nurses perform endoscopic procedures
• Attending training as necessary to enhance or refresh skills
• Collecting specimens from patients
• Collaborating effectively with other care providers regarding procedures and patients' conditions
• Staying current on endoscopy developments by reading literature, speaking with colleagues or participating in professional organizations
• Assists with Business Office Support duties and will be trained to EPIC applications and front desk registration & copay collection

Experience Required

• GI tech experience and/or patient care experience (medical assistant, patient care technician, etc.)
• Must have the ability to learn IDX and EPIC applications
• Strong customer service skills preferred, some desk duties required

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required

License/Certification Requirements

• Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)

• Minimum 3 shifts per 6 weeks
• Flexible schedule; weekend and weekday call
