The GI Technician reports to the GI RN, assists the physician during invasive GI procedures, hands instruments, and supports staff to ensure continuous, high-quality patient care in compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a training program or 2+ years GI setting experience preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician as scrub nurse during invasive GI procedures.
• Hand sterilized instruments, scopes and supplies to the physician without delay.
• Support other staff to ensure continuous, quality patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in Performance Improvement activities.
