Job summary

Promega seeks a motivated student to support data governance and content management for its Genetic Identity unit. You will clean CRM data, consolidate materials into a single governed source, and build an interactive lab intelligence artifact using AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and clean North America CRM accounts and contacts per FRAM/Marketing guidance.
  • Populate and standardize product reference lists within CRM.
  • Build and maintain a governed SharePoint repository for customer-facing materials.
  • Using Claude and cleaned CRM data, design an artifact identifying each forensic lab by region with key contacts and instruments.
  • Keep lab intelligence artifact current with FRAM reporting; coordinate with master list to avoid duplicates.
  • Help track which customer contracts permit price increases and flag deadlines.
  • Handle customer, contract, and lab-partner data confidentially.
  • Demonstrate inclusion and a safe workspace; act with kindness and respect.

Job description

JOB OBJECTIVE

Supports the Genetic Identity (GI) Strategic Business Unit by cleaning and maintaining CRM data, consolidating customer-facing content into a single governed source, and building a regional lab intelligence tool using AI tools such as Claude. Works under the direction of an assigned NA Sales FRAM and/or the GI Commercialization team, with day-to-day guidance from a designated supervisor. Directly supports territory planning, customer-facing content quality, and the forensic DNA lab master list initiative.



CORE DUTIES:


  1. 1. Audit and clean North America (and applicable global) CRM accounts and contacts under FRAM and Marketing Services guidance, correcting and standardizing records.

  2. 2. Populate and standardize product reference lists within CRM.

  3. 3. Build and maintain a single, governed SharePoint repository indexing current customer-facing materials (data validations, white papers, posters, presentations, abstracts), retiring outdated versions with FRAM/Marketing sign-off.

  4. 4. Using Claude (or a comparable LLM) and the cleaned CRM data, design and maintain an interactive, permanent artifact identifying each forensic lab by region, including analyst count, Technical Leader / Lab Director contact, current instrument list, current database and casework kit, and last visit date.

  5. 5. Keep the lab intelligence artifact current as FRAMs report lab visits and account changes; coordinate with the forensic DNA lab master list project to avoid duplicate data sets.

  6. 6. Working with the assigned FRAM and Contracts/Finance, help build and maintain a tracking mechanism identifying which customer contracts permit price increases and flag approaching deadlines.

  7. 7. Handles customer, contract, and lab-partner data with the confidentiality required of a regulated forensic and government-facing business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. 1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field.

  2. 2. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work directly with FRAMs and Marketing Services and to work independently with only intermittent supervision.

  3. 3. Demonstrated, hands-on experience using Claude or a comparable LLM (ChatGPT, Copilot) for substantive work products, not casual use only.

  4. 4. High attention to detail and comfort with data cleanup and standardization work.

  5. 5. Ability to handle confidential customer, contract, and partner information appropriately.

  6. 6. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. 1. Experience with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar).

  2. 2. Basic familiarity with building simple web pages, dashboards, or interactive tools (no-code/low-code acceptable).

  3. 3. Interest in life sciences, forensic science, or regulated markets.

  4. 4. Prior internship or project experience involving data cleanup, CRM, or content management.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  1. 1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time while using a computer.

  2. 2. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.
