Job Description:

The Registered Dietitian Clinical facilitates the nutrition care process to provide individuals with quality medical nutrition therapy for common disease states and/or to promote optimal wellness.

Posting Details

1. Shift: Weekdays only, 8am-4:30pm. Remote work is an option.
2. This position will be part of our IBD program.
3. Previous experience with IBD Patient would be a plus.
4. Full Time: 40 hrs/weekly.

Essential Functions

1. Completes and documents nutrition assessment.
2. Assess and interpret nutrition-related lab values.
3. Identifies and documents nutrition diagnosis.
4. Identifies and implements appropriate nutrition interventions including quality nutrition education based on customer needs, expectations, and culture.
5. Monitors and evaluates individual nutrition outcomes related to nutrition diagnosis, goals, and interventions.
6. Communicates nutrition expertise with all appropriate healthcare providers.
7. Collaborates with other dietitians including referring patients to specialty-trained dietitians as appropriate.
8. Supports nutrition care across the healthcare continuum.
9. Participates in department continuous improvement projects.
10. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration eligible. If hired in registration eligible status, employee must successfully pass the Registered Dietitian credentialing exam within 6 months of hire to remain in the job.
2. For registration eligible graduates after Jan 1, 2024, completion of a minimum of a master’s degree by an accredited university. Education is verified.
3. Completion of an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program.
4. State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of practice requirement for Registered Dietitians. If the primary state of practice requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
5. Experience in clinical dietetics, preferred.

Physical Requirements

1. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
2. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
3. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
4. For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$28.15 - $43.42
