Job summary

Florida Digestive Health Specialists LLP in Lakewood Ranch, FL seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a fast-paced gastroenterology practice. Qualifications

• Certification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably gastroenterology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with patients and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the EMR.
• Enter recalls and handle prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Maintain patient records with confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
