Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support a GI medical practice in Springfield. You will room patients, take vital signs, assist with procedures, collect specimens, and document in the electronic health record.

You will help prepare exam rooms and maintain smooth patient flow throughout the day. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 6 months of related experience, and preferred knowledge of medical assisting; national MA certification is a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required.
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history and documents in the medical record including chief complaint, history, allergies, medications, and review of systems, and takes patient vital signs.
• Processes and files lab/diagnostic results, notes in patients’ chart after physician review.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office and collaborates with receptionist to ensure timely visits.
• Answers the telephone, schedules patient appointments, and assists front office as needed.
