Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Gastroenterology job in Springfield, OR. The position is a 26-week assignment starting 11-02-26 with 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00) and on-call coverage. This is a physician role focused on GI care in an acute setting.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating digestive disorders in adults, performing endoscopic procedures when applicable, and collaborating with the care team. Competitive daily pay and comprehensive support are provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in internal medicine (ACGME or AOA).
• GI fellowship preferred depending on the position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat digestive disorders in adults (and possibly children).
• Take comprehensive histories and perform physical exams.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests (endoscopies, imaging, labs).
• Perform GI endoscopic procedures as allowed by scope.
• Develop and implement treatment plans; manage chronic GI conditions.
• Collaborate with surgeons and radiologists for coordinated care.
• Educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate medical records and stay updated on advances.
