Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates problem-solving related to procedures performed.
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment, procedures and supplies.
  • Adhere to aseptic technique and safety protocols for instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare supplies and instruments for diagnostics and interventions.
  • Position and reposition patients during procedures.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and provide support pre-operatively.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ability to problem-solve in relation to the procedure being performed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of various equipment, procedures and supplies.
  • Adheres to proper procedures of aseptic technique and safety in the use of instruments and equipment.
  • Secures and prepares all supplies and instruments required for diagnostics and therapeutic intervention before procedures.
  • Position and re-position patient during procedures.
  • Helps monitor patients during procedure.
  • Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
  • Ensures that specimens are correctly handled and routed to the proper source.
  • Maintains current knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medications used intraoperatively.
  • Follows all federal, state, and departmental safety procedures.
Skills
  • Tech various types of basic endoscopic procedures.
  • Maintain competency in handling and reprocessing of endoscopes used in basic endoscopic procedures.
  • Assist in taking patient vital signs and reporting them to nursing staff
  • Assist in recovery room with ambulating patients, cleaning soiled stretchers, and dressing cleaned stretchers
Qualifications
  • High School or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience required, hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Receives on the job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.
  • BLS required.
