Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL seeks a Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab/Endoscopy Registered Nurse. You will assist with GI procedures, prepare patients, and provide education and care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.

The role requires current RN license and perioperative experience, with sign-on bonus and full benefits. Hours are 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday with on-call.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients across age groups.
• Coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists; direct OR staff and ensure continuity of care and unit organization.
• Adhere to regulations and participate in Performance Improvement activities, meetings and in-services.

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab/Endoscopy Registered Nurse. A GI Lab/Endo RN specializes in caring for patients with conditions affecting their gastrointestinal tract. Their work includes assisting with procedures like colonoscopies and endoscopies, preparing patients for procedures, and providing education and care before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and older adults.
• The Registered Nurse coordinates the care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides the OR Technician and other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Works with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to provide continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.

Qualifications
