Job summary
AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering specialized care for digestive and liver disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
You will perform patient assessments, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, educate families, and document encounters in our EMR, contributing to quality improvement and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
- Active Physician Assistant license from an accredited program.
- BLS certification required.
- 1+ year of related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
- Assess patients, obtain histories, perform exams, and develop treatment plans.
- Order, interpret and review diagnostic tests and imaging results.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Document encounters in the EMR and participate in quality initiatives.
