AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering specialized care for digestive and liver disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

You will perform patient assessments, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, educate families, and document encounters in our EMR, contributing to quality improvement and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Active Physician Assistant license from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required.
• 1+ year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
• Assess patients, obtain histories, perform exams, and develop treatment plans.
• Order, interpret and review diagnostic tests and imaging results.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Document encounters in the EMR and participate in quality initiatives.

Job Description Summary

The Gastroenterology Physician Assistant (PA) provides specialized care for patients with digestive and liver disorders. This role works closely with gastroenterologists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders and diseases.
• Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and develop treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging results.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support AdventHealth's mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ through whole-person care
