Job summary

The Endoscopy Technician at MUHA is responsible for assisting surgeons and gastroenterologists during GI procedures by preparing sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment. You will ensure availability and cleanliness of GI tools and support patient safety throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities include documentation in EMR, adherence to infection control, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with GI technology and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with healthcare experience or related certification.
• CNA/Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant training or EMT/Paramedic certification is desirable.
• SGNA GI Technical Specialist modules completion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide procedural support during GI procedures, assisting with patient positioning, equipment prep and monitoring vital signs.
• Manage GI equipment availability, functionality, and cleaning; coordinate repairs as needed.
• Coordinate patient care with nurses and physicians before, during, and after procedures.
• Document procedural details and equipment usage in EMR and maintain organized records.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and regulatory protocols; participate in quality initiatives.
• Provide education and training to new staff, residents, and fellows on GI procedures and equipment.
