Job summary

Mercyhealth Freeport Hospital in Freeport, IL is seeking an Endoscopy Technician (GI Tech) to support physicians during GI procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and ensuring endoscopy instruments function properly.

This full-time role offers a 36-hour week schedule (days, 7:00 am–4:30 pm). Applicants should have a high school diploma, valid CNA registry or LPN license preferred, and CPR certification within 90 days; ACLS/PALS/PEARS/NRP per unit requirements.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Active CNA registry or LPN license preferred.
• Approved CPR certification required within 90 days (ACLS/PALS/PEARS/NRP per unit).

Responsibilities

• Serves as resource person for Endoscopy equipment used.
• Evaluates new equipment, orders and restocks supplies.
• Independently assists physician procedures in general GI and interventional GI cases.
• Communicates with appropriate departments concerning equipment problems.
• Participates in Quality Management program, standards, policies and procedures.
