Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark is seeking a G.I. Technician to support invasive GI procedures by handing instruments, scopes, and supplies to the physician and assisting in patient care.

The role reports to the G.I. RN, OR Charge Nurse, and Director of Surgical Services. A High School Diploma or GED and current BLS are required, with GI setting experience preferred. This is a full-time, day shift position with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years GI setting experience preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician as scrub assistant during invasive GI procedures.
• Hand sterilized instruments, scopes and supplies to the physician during procedures.
• Provide continuous, quality patient care for adolescents, adults and older adults.
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in performance improvement activities.
