Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN seeks a Registered Nurse for the 25‑bed GI/medical unit (DO6D) to coordinate nursing care, educate patients and families, and support complex discharge planning. The RN delegates care, leads on patient education, and participates in quality improvement within the Mayo Nursing Practice Model.

Flexible hours with day/evening/night shifts (8 and 12 hours), potential committee involvement, and TN sponsorship eligibility are part of this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program recognized by ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required.
• BSN degree within five years from RN start date.
• Current RN license; BLS required within 90 days; multiple certs may be required.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, computer skills; flexible hours; leadership and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, direct patient care and education.
• Lead discharge planning and patient education.
• Mentor and participate on committees; contribute to quality improvement.
