Job summary

RTX in the United States is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join the GhostEye program in TEWKSBURY, MA. You will act as the primary systems engineering focal point, defining architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification plans while coordinating with program leadership and multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Systems Engineering focal point for the program.
  • Lead the definition, development, and implementation of system architectures, algorithms, and interfaces for GE V120 capabilities.
  • Manage configuration process, perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies.
  • Partner with the Program Chief Engineer in ensuring the engineering team aligns to cost/schedule.
  • Provide technical directions to multi-disciplinary program teams.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to systems engineering processes throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans.
  • Coordinate system engineering activities, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, and testing.
  • Conduct system level trade studies and performance analysis.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer presentations.
  • Support program management with technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans.

TheSystems Engineering and Test Capabilities Disciplineis the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Verification and Validation, test capabilities, Life Cycle and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The LTAMDS and GhostEye Programs Department is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, Systems Engineering) to join the GhostEye (GE) program to support the GhostEye V120 contract. The Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) is an integral part of the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) and is the principal arbiter of Systems requirements and design. The LSE supports the OCE to ensure technical execution and system compliance to contractual requirements.

This position will be located in Tewksbury, MA and may require occasional travel.

What you will do:

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in related Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined Engineering

  • Experience leading teams and IPT’s, using tools and metrics in managing activities, and interfacing with senior program and functional management

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer or Chief Engineer on previous programs

  • Experience with MS Windows operating systemand MS Office products

  • Experience in preparing customer and/ormanagement level briefings

  • Excellent communication skills with prior experience presenting to customers and senior leadership

  • Experience in schedule development, action itemmanagement, requirement change managementand overall development and progress metrics

  • Experience working with external customers; including USG, or FMS partners

  • EVMS Certified (or equivalent)

  • Knowledge navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challenges

  • Technical leadership and guidance of multi-disciplined teams in the design and development of system requirements and design.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
