Job summary

AMD's GFXIP Architecture Engineer in Austin will contribute to the architecture of next‑generation graphics and AI accelerator products. You will work with GPU, AI, SoC, and system architects to define capabilities that improve performance, resiliency, security, and recoverability across client, data center, and automotive markets.

We seek strong hardware architects with experience in CPUs, SoCs, accelerators, or other complex systems who can solve challenging architectural problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's or PhD in a related field is a plus.
• Experience with CPU/SoC, GPUs, AI accelerators, or other large-scale hardware designs is preferred.
• Familiarity with reliability metrics such as FIT, MTBF, MTBR is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural features for next-generation GFXIP deployments with focus on reliability and recoverability.
• Collaborate with GPU, AI, SoC architects to meet system requirements.
• Analyze performance, power, area, and security tradeoffs and their impact on product goals.
• Support hardware design teams on resiliency mechanisms and failure-management strategies.
• Explain architecture decisions across architecture, hardware, software, and product teams.
