Job summary

Lunalilo Home and Adult Day Center in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to supervise nursing services and support residents across day and long-term care settings.

The RN will cover day or evening shifts, maintain patient charts, ensure compliance with DOH regulations, and supervise CNAs to provide safe, compassionate care for kupuna. Valid Hawaii RN license and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license, State of Hawaii.
• Current TB/First Aid/CPR/BLS certificates.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training in geriatric or long-term care.
• Able to develop and maintain organization of records and information; able to manage inventory levels and purchase food and supplies.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively, collaboratively and professionally within a team and across an organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily resident visits to observe and evaluate resident’s physical, mental and emotional status recording findings in resident’s charts.
• Complete monthly logs for residents including vitals/weights, nursing summaries, POS/MAR/TAR.
• Ensure current yearly updates/changes in LOC, Self Preservation, PE, PPD, Dietary, Physician Orders, Fall Risk Assessment.
• Observe nursing staff and work practices to ensure protective devices and safe work procedures are used.
• Manage staff as they assist residents in their ADL’s, daily exercise, hygiene, grooming and nutritional programs.
• Ensure appropriate podiatry care (every 3 months).
• Continually assess and evaluate each resident’s health status and communicate with physician and family.
• Supervise CNAs in vital signs, blood pressures, and yearly skills review.
• Inform the Director of Nursing daily of all incidents related to residents and nursing staff.
