Job summary

Mercy LIFE Valley View, part of Trinity Health PACE, seeks a Recreation Assistant to plan and deliver activities for deaf seniors with dementia. The role requires ASL learning, strong communication, and the ability to run group and individual sessions Monday–Friday with potential weekend coverage.

This PRN, part-time position emphasizes activity plans, calendars, and care documentation to enhance participants’ everyday experiences in a supportive, patient-centered setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ASL willingness or proficiency preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and conflict management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute activities for dementia-specific population (groups, 1:1, sensory stimulation).
• Develop/implement activities addressing cognitive, physical, social, psychosocial, and artistic needs.
• Support socialization, daily activity, physical activity, and lifelong learning for participants.
