Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current OH RN License.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements based on patient population needs.
• Minimum six months direct patient care experience in psychiatric setting or equivalent coursework.
• NCI-APS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire for employees in UCMC Psychiatric Services.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Communicates the plan of care to all levels of staff involved in the patient's care and prioritizes care.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment and involves family in care decisions.
• Addresses needs arising from behavioral health issues, cultural norms, or religious considerations.
• Documents nursing process and contributes to professional development of peers.

Education
