Job summary

Seaside Health System in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Geriatric Psychiatry unit on the Day Shift. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and help develop individualized care plans.

The role requires Louisiana RN licensure, a Bachelor's in Nursing, and at least 1 year of med-surg or geriatric psychiatry experience. We offer a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Louisiana.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in med surg and/or geriatric psychiatry or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to older adult patients with mental health needs, including assessment, medication management, and treatment planning.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Document patient progress and maintain accurate and detailed records.
Participate in shift reports and sharing of patient information with colleagues.
Utilize effective communication skills to relay patient information to family members and healthcare providers.
Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in geriatric psychiatry.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
