Qualifications

• MD/DO with ABPN psychiatry residency completed.
• Massachusetts Medical License required.
• Board certification in psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry or psychosomatic medicine preferred.
• ACGME geriatric medicine or psychosomatic fellowship preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience delivering psychiatric care to seniors in long-term care.
• Ability to supervise and train clinical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultation to primary care teams in long-term care, post-acute and outpatient settings.
• Perform emergency psychiatric consultations and ensure safe dispositions.
• Recommend medications and treatment regimens per assessed conditions.
• Refer to other specialists and multidisciplinary team as needed.
• Document visits promptly in the medical record; charge captures within 72 hours.
• Participate in on-call coverage and staff education; supervise learners.
• Engage in quality improvement and represent the department in committees.
