Job summary

Island Health is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join a small team in the Cowichan Valley. The role emphasizes teaching within the Island Medical Program and multidisciplinary patient care for older adults in a tertiary context.

The position offers access to research opportunities, MOCAP crisis support, and strong collaborative links with psychiatry and geriatric services across Vancouver Island; compensation includes RSA-based incentives and relocation support.

Qualifications

• FRCPC eligible or board certification in Geriatric Psychiatry.
• Licensed to practice in British Columbia.
• Experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary care of older adults.

Responsibilities

• Engage in Island Medical Program undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Participate in MOCAP crisis response as part of call rotation (optional).
• Attend clinical team meetings and quarterly Division meetings (virtual).
• Contribute to research opportunities; collaborate with geriatric medicine and psychiatry services.
