Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the assigned care setting. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes, applying nursing processes, critical thinking, and compassionate care.

Duties include patient education, safety, and discharge planning. The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, RN licensure, and completion of BLS within 14 days of hire;

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Has knowledge of ordered medications and administers as prescribed.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and includes family in teaching.
• Demonstrates ability to utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates/collaborates with multidisciplinary team in providing patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family; coordinates with social services for discharge needs.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing risk of harm; demonstrates cost-effective practices.
