Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or education/training meeting the NA requirements.
• English language proficiency per VA standards.
• GS-3 to GS-5 progression with KSAs and supervised practice.
• Preferred experience in long-term care and dementia/geriatric-psych care.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in preventive, acute, sub-acute, chronic, maintenance and hospice care.
• Develop skills to participate in assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
• Document care and observations in charts and forms.
• Provide direct patient care and support basic life-saving procedures when needed.
• Promote resident independence and participate in treatment planning meetings.
