Job summary

Maryland Masonic Homes in Cockeysville, MD is seeking a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) for the Skilled PT16 shift from 7:00am to 11:00pm. You will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse to support residents' daily needs and safety.

Eligible candidates must have CPR and First Aid certification (AHA or approved provider). Maryland-registered or in the process of the GNA registry is preferred, with at least one year of long‑term care experience recommended.

Qualifications

• Completed approved program for Nursing Assistants in Maryland.
• Maryland State Competency Evaluation completed or grandfathered per state guidelines.
• In process of or on Maryland Registry for Geriatric Nursing Assistants.
• Minimum of one year long term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct hands-on nursing care to residents and report changes to Nurse as appropriate.
• Accurately obtain and report vital signs and weights.
• Responsible for overall safety/needs of all residents.
• Provide meals/supplements and fluids to meet resident needs.
• Complete GNA documentation as required.
• Assist residents to promote independence in all ADLs; and be accountable for care during shift.
• Provide care and evacuate residents during a fire or disaster.
• Maintain infection control and keep environments clean and orderly.
• Assist in taking residents to scheduled appointments.
• Report malfunctioning/unsafe equipment.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.
• Promptly answer call lights and alarms to respond to needs.
• Use equipment safely (wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, etc.).
