Job summary

Montgomery Village Health Care in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a dedicated Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to join our compassionate care team. You will provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff and help residents reach their maximum potential.

Responsibilities include assisting with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and linen changes, always maintaining dignity, safety, and comfort for each resident.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified GNA credentialed in accordance with state laws.
• Fluent reading/writing/speaking English.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA):

• Basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
• Perform duties, such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS OF Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA):

• Must be a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of the state.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES OF Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA):

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
• Must have patience tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition
