Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for our 10 West Medical Surgical unit serving geriatric patients. The RN will coordinate individualized care, perform age-appropriate assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure or eligibility, BLS-HCP, and unit-specific ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed. Proficiency in EPIC and strong communication are essential for patient education and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing eligible for VA licensure.
• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain VA RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care for all ages to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Complete age-specific admission assessments and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with care team to implement interdisciplinary plans of care.
• Administer and document treatments/medications using electronic medical records.
• Identify patient/family education needs and incorporate into the care plan.
• Support performance improvement activities and serve as patient advocate.
