Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Diet Technician to provide nutritional services to residents and staff within a resident-centered, non-institutional setting. The role focuses on elder care, autonomy, and compassionate communication.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate degree in dietetic technology (ADA accredited) and be a Registered Dietetic Technician. Supervisory or related experience is preferred, with strong literacy, documentation, and English communication skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in dietetic technology from an ADA accredited program.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietetic Technician.
• Experience: Supervisory, computer, nutrition and food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient dietary services around the autonomy and dignity of elders.
• Communicate care and dignity for elders.
• Place dietary decision-making in elders' hands when possible.
• Make prompt and accurate judgments regarding elder care and emergencies.
• Work and communicate as part of a self-directed work team.
• Cope with mental and emotional stress related to ill or elderly individuals.
• Communicate in English.
• Be detailed oriented with strong writing and documentation abilities.
• Use tools and equipment required.
