Job summary

Socket.dev seeks Diet Technicians to provide nutritional services to residents, guests and staff in a geriatric care setting. You will work in a resident-oriented, non-institutional Small House Neighborhood model to support elders ages 62–85, with younger adults occasionally included.

You will guide dietary decisions with elders, respond to emergencies with sound judgments, and collaborate within a self-directed team.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in dietetic technology from an ADA accredited program.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Dietetic Technician.
• Experience: Supervisory, computer, nutrition and food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient dietary services around autonomy and dignity of elders.
• Communicate care with compassion for elders.
• Support elders in dietary decision-making when possible and appropriate.
• Make prompt and accurate judgments in elder care and emergencies.
• Collaborate within a self-directed work team.
• Communicate in English.
• Maintain detailed literacy, writing, documentation and interpersonal skills.
• Use tools and equipment required for dietary service.
