Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Geotechnician for an approximately three-month project assignment supporting warehouse and core yard operations in Battle Mountain, Nevada. This is a hands-on position, outdoors, safety-conscious, with drill core handling, sample organization, inventory, and general core yard activities.

The ideal candidate is able to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs. The work requires following safety procedures, operating under the direction of geologists, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong English-language communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout a 10-hour shift.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical core yard/warehouse duties with minimal oversight.
• Ability to follow established safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform work safely and identify and communicate unsafe conditions before beginning work.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Move core boxes on and off core tables and stack/re-stack boxes on pallets.
• Cover and maintain core stacks in the core yard.
• Break and bag drill core at core tables.
• Maintain sample inventory, warehouse materials, and storage records.
• Accurately photograph drill core while maintaining natural colors and minimizing distortion.
• Complete workplace inspections and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Work safely around rock saw operations while using PPE.
• Follow direction from geologists and senior Geotechnicians.
• Immediately report errors, inconsistencies, or other concerns to geologists.
• Manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities while maintaining safety and accuracy.

This is a hands-on, physically active position supporting geologists and senior Geotechnicians with drill core handling, sample organization, inventory, and general core yard activities. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, organized, comfortable working outdoors, and able to perform repetitive lifting throughout a 10-hour shift.
