Job summary

Nobis Group is hiring a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to support field and office work on infrastructure projects. You will collect samples, perform analyses, and help prepare technical reports with mentorship in a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in civil or geological engineering with geotechnical concentration.
0–3 years of related experience and/or training.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Collect samples individually or with a field team; operate, calibrate, and maintain field equipment.
Perform decontamination; collect samples during drilling or for sampling; ship samples to analytical labs.
Complete accurate analyses and interpretation of reports, maps, drawings, specs, and regulatory data for assigned tasks.
Review and create reports, maps, drawings, plans, specs, and tables; use Excel, GIS, and CAD; relate raw data to finished work.
Identify soils using appropriate geologic/engineering standards; observe sites to monitor construction progress and ensure conformance with plans and safety standards.
Assist team to prepare, review, and modify technical reports, plans, specs, and calculations.
Extensive field site travel; travel is project-dependent and can be extensive.
Assume other responsibilities as needed.
