Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking staff engineers to gain exposure to geotechnical investigations, materials testing programs, and report writing under licensed engineers. You will see the ground truth behind design assumptions on projects from building pads to heavy industrial programs.

You will plan and observe drilling, reduce laboratory data, draft geotechnical and materials reports, and support forensic investigations, with mentorship toward PE licensure and exam support.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related.
• EIT certificate or exam scheduled.
• Field-willing: real projects, real dirt, real weather.
• Clear technical writing.
• Interest in geotechnical, materials, or forensic practice.

Responsibilities

• Log borings behind a drill rig and classifying samples by hand.
• Reduce consolidation data and draft geotechnical reports.
• Stand on distressed slabs with a senior engineer to determine causes.
• Rotate through geotechnical investigations, materials programs, and forensic assignments.
• Write reports under heavy edits by licensed engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate drill crews and landowners; chase utility locate.
• Document field decisions and outcomes as you learn.
