Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Louisville, KY to perform and lead field investigations, engineering analyses, and report preparation for a range of infrastructure and development projects. You will review drawings for compliance and help develop cost estimates, plans, and specifications while coordinating with a project team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 1–3 years’ experience; a Master’s degree is preferred, and a valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning.
• Demonstrate quality practices and acumen.
• Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
• Manage and execute small projects of minimal complexity.
• Assist in developing scope of work for routine projects.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, specs, and documents.
• Analyze data and perform engineering calculations for PE review.
• Coordinate field investigations, laboratory testing, and data evaluation.
• Develop plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of projects.
• Work with senior project manager and PE of Record to gain experience.
• Make design recommendations for PE review.
• Prepare work scope, proposals, and plans investigations for approval.
• May supervise field staff and support personnel.
• Interact with client to develop scope and communicate progress.
