Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
• Applications will be accepted from persons who possess a current Engineer Intern Certificate in states other than Louisiana; must obtain Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts the unit’s federal and state funded research in geotechnical engineering; develops research programs, conducts and supervises testing, collects and summarizes data, and disseminates findings.
• Provides technical engineering assistance to officials within and outside the department using state-of-the-art technology.
• Participates in coordinated research studies and activities at the national level with universities, agencies, and industry.
