Job summary

The ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Project Manager I to support geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects. The role is primarily office-based with some field exposure for training, focusing on technical analysis, reporting, and project coordination.

Responsibilities include preparing reports, budgeting, and assisting with proposals. The position emphasizes developing project management and client communication skills while upholding ECS Core

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work with teams
• A professional license is not required but helpful for career progression
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary
• Basic knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards
• Developing project management and client communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations
• Manage CMT tasks including daily report review and issue tracking
• Assist with project budgeting and invoice preparation
• Support preparation of proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects
• Conduct boring and test pit layout and site access evaluation
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
• Research local geologic conditions and assist field supervision
• Assist drilling activities and supervision of field investigations
• Perform in-situ testing and soil classification as needed
• Review field reports and document project data
• Communicate with project teams, contractors, and field personnel
• Perform other technical and project support tasks as assigned
