Job summary

Malcolm Drilling in Kent, WA seeks a Project Manager to lead civil project estimation and management for deep foundations, retention systems, and related scopes. You will evaluate site conditions, study geotechnical reports, and coordinate vendor quotes while ensuring timely schedules and budgets.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering or construction management degree with 5+ years in civil/geotechnical work, strong communication skills, and travel willingness across the district.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil or geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and practices.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites within the assigned district.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Two years of project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with DoD and/or USACE preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Project estimating and project management of civil projects in deep foundations and related scopes.
  • Perform site visits to evaluate site conditions.
  • Study drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
  • Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Prepare take-offs, cost estimates, bids, and budgets.
  • Negotiate construction contracts with legal team support.
  • Prepare submittals with plans, means and methods, and materials.
  • Manage field quality and control costs.
  • Prepare and manage short and long project schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety measurements.
  • Prepare project billings and close out paperwork.
  • Attend company-wide training.
