Job summary

ECS Southwest, LLP is seeking a geotechnical professional to lead and deliver geotechnical and CMT projects in Utah. You will prepare reports, supervise field operations, and manage budgets while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Ideal candidates hold 2+ years of related experience, a civil/geology degree, and possibly a PE/PG. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
• A P.E. or Professional Geologist (P.G.) is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS or subsidiaries.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Good knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards.
• Ability to interpret field and laboratory testing results.
• Ability to manage priorities, schedules, and deadlines.

• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals
• Begins taking ownership of projects from proposal through completion
• Supervises field activities, including drilling and testing operations
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances
• Conducts geologic research and supports technical decision-making
• Classifies soils and assigns laboratory testing requirements
• Mentors and supports junior staff and field personnel
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions
• Performs other technical and project management tasks as assigned
