Job summary

Pennoni is a multidisciplinary engineering firm seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager for our Pittston, PA office. This full-time role leads field explorations, testing programs, and advanced analyses while overseeing staff and client relations.

Qualified candidates hold a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering degree and a PA PE license or eligibility within six months. Experience with geotechnical design, budgets, and reports is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare geotechnical proposals and testing/inspection proposals.
  • Oversee staff on field explorations, lab testing, bearing capacity, settlement analysis, deep foundations, slope stability, and other geotechnical analyses.
  • Supervise inspection and testing during construction.
  • Interface with clients and ensure quality, timely service.
  • Manage construction observation and materials testing projects.
  • Develop and manage existing client relationships and pursue new business.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical calculations and reports.

Job description

Our combination of talent and experience generates unprecedented solutions for diverse & iconic projects around the globe!We are hiring for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Pittston, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and construction inspection and testing proposals.
  • Oversee staff for geotechnical projects, including field explorations, laboratory testing programs, advanced bearing capacity/settlement analysis, deep foundations, slope stability analysis, and other geotechnical analyses.
  • Oversee staff performing inspection and testing during construction.
  • Interface with clients and ensure quality timely service.
  • Successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction observation and materials testing projects.
  • Managing existing clients and developing new clients.
  • Developing proposals.
  • Performing and reviewing geotechnical calculations.
  • Drafting and reviewing geotechnical reports
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably a BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering).
  • 8+ years of professional experience working in Engineering PE license in Pa or able obtain PE within 6 months of their start date.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractor, owner, regulatory agencies
  • Ability to develop budgets and geotechnical scopes, ability to develop comprehensive calculation packages suitable for review by regulatory agencies
  • Advanced knowledge of soil mechanics and foundation design as well as slope stability and geotechnical instrumentation
  • Knowledge of IBC and Construction testing (e.g., concrete, masonry, fireproofing, structural steel, etc. Experience in dam design/analysis Experience with local DOT methods and procedures. (e.g., DelDOT, MDSHA, DDOT, NJDOT, PADOT)
