Job summary

Geotechnical Project Manager role in Houston, TX seeks a seasoned civil engineer to lead regional projects, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with design, operations and sales teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include contract negotiations, change orders, budgeting, RFIs and submittals, plus guiding risk management, scheduling, and team leadership. Up to 25% travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in civil-related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy civil construction project management experience.
  • Geotechnical construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure project safety rules are followed by all team members.
  • Conduct monthly safety audits on site.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Construction managers to grow resources and refine operations.
  • Collaborate with regional sales and design team members.
  • Support regional sales and business development efforts by attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Serve as main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with engineers and general contractors to meet design and construction requirements.
  • Manage contract negotiations and prepare scope of work documents.
  • Track, prepare and negotiate change orders and claims.
  • Oversee material and equipment buyout with suppliers.
  • Schedule projects to meet contractual and internal schedules.
  • Review contract documents & specifications and prepare RFIs.
  • Provide input on design, drawings, and submittals with Design Engineers.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Generate initial and monthly project budgets and forecasts.
  • Review invoices and payments for subcontractors and vendors.
