Job summary

Kleinfelder's Geotechnical team in Oklahoma (Tulsa or Oklahoma City) seeks a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead complex transportation, oil and gas, power, and water projects. You will manage projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and guide subsurface exploration programs.

The role emphasizes design, reporting, client relations, and growth, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to proposals. An advanced degree and PE license are preferred or attainable within six months.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in geotechnical design, including shallow, mat, and deep foundations; retaining structures; slope stability; and major earthwork projects.
  • Pavement design experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading diverse project teams and supporting business development efforts.
  • Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain an Oklahoma PE within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical engineering projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct and oversee geotechnical analyses, design activities, and engineering evaluations.
  • Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs and assign laboratory testing.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for a wide range of project types.
  • Guide and mentor staff in material characterization, slope stability, settlement, seepage, and related analyses.
  • Oversee field observations, testing, and site visits.
  • Support and foster strong client relationships, provide project updates, and assist with strategic pursuits.
  • Lead and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
  • Collaborate with civil design teams to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and priorities effectively.
