Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Geotechnical Staff Project Manager I to support geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) projects through technical analysis, reporting, and project coordination. This role is primarily office-based with some field exposure for training and involves assisting with project execution, budgeting, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geology required.
• Professional license not required for this position but progress may require licensure.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards.
• Ability to work with teams, clients and supervisors.
• Developing project management and client communication skills.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software (developing).
• Self-motivated and responsible work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical reports, analysis and recommendations.
• Manage CMT tasks, daily report review and issue tracking.
• Assist with project budgeting and invoicing.
• Support preparation of proposals for geotechnical and CMT projects.
• Perform or assist boring and test pit layout and site access evaluation.
• Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances.
• Conduct research on local geologic conditions.
• Assist supervision of field investigations and drilling activities.
• Perform or support in-situ testing and soil classification.
• Review field reports and document project data.
• Communicate with project teams, contractors, and field personnel.
• Perform other technical, field, and project support tasks as assigned.
