Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a mid-level (Project) Geotechnical Engineer to support our growing North Carolina practice. You will develop geotechnical scopes, oversee investigations, and interact with clients under the guidance of senior engineers.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree with 5+ years of consulting geotechnical experience, and are proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, Microstation, gINT/OpenGround Cloud.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• 5+ years of consulting geotechnical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS and Microstation.
• Experience with gINT and OpenGround Cloud software.
• Excellent oral and written communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical scope of services and fee estimates.
• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations.
• Manage field work and correlate lab tests.
• Create geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Perform project management including budgeting and client communications.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across Schnabel offices.
• Occasionally perform field work such as logging borings and site visits.
