Job summary

ECS Southwest, LLP is seeking a senior geotechnical professional to provide technical leadership and regional support. You will mentor junior staff, review technical work, and lead project teams while engaging clients to deliver practical geotechnical solutions.

The role emphasizes staff development, proposal preparation, and collaboration with management on department performance and strategy. A PE/PG license and substantial field experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical fields preferred.
• 12 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering.
• PE or PG license in each state of practice is required.
• Senior reviewer designation from current or previous firm is required.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support geotechnical staff across branches and regions.
• Host or attend client meetings to deliver technical solutions.
• Mentor Associate Principals and participate in review committees for promotion.
• Oversee projects, perform technical report reviews, and prepare proposals.
• Assist with department management, P&L, and business development including client interactions.
• Support staffing decisions with hiring managers and lead junior staff.
• Occasionally perform duties across departments (CMT) as needed.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise and supporting Geotechnical staff both within a branch and within a region
• Host or attend project meetings with clients and/or ECS staff to help provide technical solutions as requested
• Responsibilities may also include mentoring Associate Principals
• Responsibilities may also include participation in the review committee for candidates who seek Associate Principal designation (Geotechnical)
• Perform the following at the office and regional levels:
  • Overseeing projects
  • Performing technical report reviews
  • Preparing and reviewing proposals
  • Assisting with management of the department and P&L
  • Business development and assisting other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing client interactions
  • Assisting hiring managers to help make staffing decisions.
  • Leading and coaching junior staff members
  • Due to low barriers between departments, duties may also include performing the tasks above in CMT

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
• 12 years of related experience
• Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm required
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work.
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
