Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a senior geotechnical professional to provide technical leadership and support across geotechnical staff in a regional framework. You will mentor junior staff, assist with staffing decisions, and participate in designation reviews for Associate Principals while leading technical reviews and proposals.

Based in Ridgeland, MS, this role involves coordinating with branch teams, driving business development, and ensuring high-quality geotechnical services.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Civil/Geological Engineering or geology is required.
• 12 years of related geotechnical experience.
• Senior reviewer designation from current/previous firm required.
• Active P.E. or P.G. license in all states of practice.
• Valid driver's license for ECS subsidiary work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to geotechnical staff at branch and regional levels.
• Host/attend client meetings to deliver technical solutions.
• Mentor Associate Principals and participate in designation reviews.
• Lead project oversight, reviews, proposals, and department management.
• Support business development and client relationship building.
• Assist hiring decisions and coach junior staff.
• Collaborate across departments, including CMT where applicable.

• Primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise and supporting Geotechnical staff both within a branch and within a region
• Host or attend project meetings with clients and/or ECS staff to help provide technical solutions as requested
• Responsibilities may also include mentoring Associate Principals
• Responsibilities may also include participation in the review committee for candidates who seek Associate Principal designation (Geotechnical)
• Perform the following at the office and regional levels:
• Performing technical report reviews
• Preparing and reviewing proposals
• Assisting with management of the department and P&L
• Business development and assisting other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing client interactions
• Assisting hiring managers to help make staffing decisions.
• Leading and coaching junior staff members
• Due to low barriers between departments, duties may also include performing the tasks above in CMT

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
• 12 years of related experience
• Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm required
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work.
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required.
