Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical) or closely related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical fundamentals, soil behavior, data visualization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support cutting-edge research in geotechnical infrastructure systems and emerging geotechnical engineering technologies.
• Increase NCIT’s research productivity by developing and submitting new proposals for funding and publishing high-quality peer-reviewed journal articles and grant reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external research teams on interdisciplinary projects aligned with NCIT pillars.
• Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students with research projects.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to geotechnical research, including intelligent monitoring, prediction, data-driven modeling, and risk assessment.
• Develop and implement AI/ML tools and data analytics workflows using field, lab, sensor, and infrastructure-monitoring data to support resilient systems.
• Assist in planning and operationalizing NCIT labs by coordinating equipment and software procurement.
• Participate in seminars, workshops, and outreach events.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses according to department needs and supervisor guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by NCIT Associate Director and research team.
