Zusammenfassung

Certerra Instrumentation and Monitoring, LLC seeks a Project Engineer to support geotechnical and structural monitoring programs for complex infrastructure projects in the New York area.

You will coordinate field activities, review technical data, and manage instrumentation installation and monitoring projects, interfacing with clients, contractors, and internal teams. A strong engineering foundation and organization are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline (required).
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• 2–5 years of experience in construction, geotechnical engineering, structural monitoring, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required; experience with AutoCAD or data visualization tools is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Willingness to perform field work and travel to project sites throughout the New York metropolitan area.
• Valid Drivers license, vehicle also preferred but not required

Aufgaben

• Review contract documents, project specifications, and drawings to develop instrumentation and monitoring plans.
• Coordinate and oversee the installation of monitoring instruments including inclinometers, piezometers, vibration monitors, crack gauges, settlement points, and automated monitoring systems.
• Review and analyze monitoring data to identify trends and potential construction-related impacts.
• Prepare technical reports, monitoring summaries, and project documentation for clients and project stakeholders.
• Assist with development of monitoring thresholds, alert systems, and response procedures.
• Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure timely installation and operation of instrumentation systems.
• Conduct site visits to verify instrumentation installations and support construction monitoring activities.
• Interface with clients, engineers, and contractors to communicate monitoring results and project updates.
• Support proposal development and assist with preparation of instrumentation scopes for upcoming projects.
