Job summary

Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm, is hiring a lab technician in the Geotechnical Department for the Reno, NV location. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a pay range of $21.00–$26.50 per hour.

You will perform basic geotechnical laboratory testing, record and report results, assist with accreditation, calibrate equipment, keep the lab organized, and coordinate with the lab supervisor and project manager. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in geotechnical or environmental lab work preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Field support including sample pickup and delivery, concrete sampling and testing, concrete and asphalt coring, etc.
• Vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

• Perform basic geotechnical laboratory testing, including soil, concrete, and aggregate testing


• Record and report lab results


• Assist with laboratory accreditation


• Calibrate laboratory equipment


• Maintain a clean work environment and organize lab tools and equipment


• Coordinate activities with the lab supervisor and project manager
