Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead geotechnical and construction materials testing in both field and lab settings. You will supervise laboratory technicians, manage schedules, ensure QA/QC and accreditation compliance, and support client expectations.

The role focuses on lab management with occasional technician duties, requiring a strong background in laboratory operations and safety practices. Location: Chantilly, VA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Nuclear gauge and basic concrete and soils certifications.

Responsibilities

• Managing activities and personnel related to geotechnical/construction materials laboratory testing.
• Overseeing laboratory tests, interpretation of test data, and preparing reports and summaries.
• Responsible for day-to-day operations of the lab with consideration of financial performance.
• Ensuring compliance with QA/QC policies and accreditation requirements (AASHTO, AMRL, etc.).
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and schedules.
